How much is that gemstone worth? These words help us understand what makes gems valuable.
- Four Cs – Four main things (color, clarity, cut, carat) that show a gem’s worth.
- Body color – The main color of a gem, like red or blue.
- Tone – How light or dark a gem’s color is.
- Saturation – How strong or vivid a gem’s color is.
- Blemishes – Marks or flaws on a gem’s surface.
- Hall of mirrors – A way to describe how light bounces inside a gem.
