Tzar: Online Faceting Designs and Diagrams
The Tzar gem design by Jeff Graham works best for large, light-colored stones. This cut will make a very interesting, different gemstone.
You can find cutting instructions for the Tzar here.
Cutting Remarks
If you like my "White Asterism" design, you'll like this one. I would cut it at least 8 mm but preferably 10 mm and larger.
The Tzar is designed for light-colored materials, such as danburite and light pink tourmaline. It will also work well in peridot, light blue topaz, and lab-created materials. As you can see in the ray trace below, it's brighter than the numbers indicate. However, this deep design will help improve lightly saturated material. (That's what I designed it to do).
This stone will have really nice reflections. These will create a lot of life, particularly in materials with light to medium-light colors
Note: On a smaller stone, you can leave off the table. This will give the stone a very pretty look. On larger stones, I generally cut the table.
Enjoy cutting your own "Tzar."
