The first thing you need to know is that making money faceting is not a very hard thing to do. Most people that learn to facet make some money. Often enough to pay for the hobby and a few perks.
Making a living faceting is another story, it is very difficult and takes tremendous resources, knowledge, and experience. It can be done if you are willing to make the commitment to do it, there are people making a very good living cutting stones. However, it is something that most people are not equipped to do.
Making some money along the way while cutting, is something most hobby cutters are capable of and can do. It is possible for most people to supplement their faceting hobby, and maybe pay for that piece of rough they want for themselves.
If you are fairly new to the hobby (I say hobby because, if it was a business you would not need to know how to make money), you have a lot of learning to do. Keep reading.
